Job Description
The Green Planet is currently looking for a Farm Manager to work in our Farm facility in Portland Oregon. The Farm Manager will report to directly the President of our company. We have a large retail presence in the Portland Metro area.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a 12,000 sq. ft indoor marijuana operation.
- Perform all grow tasks including but not limited to: cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, trimming, packaging, waste disposal, and inventory management.
- Oversee the cultivation procedures and nutrient regimen
- Oversee cloning processes and execute preventative maintenance to ensure the highest quality yields without loss to fungus, disease, and mold
- Oversees and manages all processing employees to perform the tasks necessary to process and get ready for market high-quality cannabis produced from a large-scale indoor grow operation
- Compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure processing operation is fully compliant with state regulations and federal and state law
- Assure that operation adheres to all business and industry license requirements
- Maintaining strict inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals, and equipment used in the laboratory and documents production by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
- Develop effective relationships with all departments throughout the company

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree emphasizing in Horticulture, Science or Botany*
- 5+ years growing and facilities management experience
- Knowledge of plant diseases, insects, fungi, and treatment*
- Knowledge of large-scale plant grow including nutrient, mediums, lighting, temperature, humidity, etc.*
- ODA Commercial pesticide licensed applicator
- Working knowledge of mechanical aspects of an indoor growing facility
- Knowledge of cannabis plant growing techniques, new strains and genetics*
- Construction/Labor job experience a plus!*
- Well organized, detail oriented and hardworking is a must!
- Must successfully pass a state-mandated background check
- Experience leading and developing a team
- Must be literate in Microsoft Office and able to learn new programs easily
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a large-scale grow
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform the following physical tasks: sitting, standing, stooping, stretching, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, performing repetitive motions, and carrying boxes
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and push/pull up to 100 lbs.
PAY:
Salary will be commensurate with experience. A comprehensive benefits package including paid time off is offered with this position. As well as medical and dental plan. This position will work an average of 40+ hours per week and will be available “after hours” if an emergency should arise.
